चंडीगढ़, 10 जुलाई- हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री श्री मनोहर लाल ने विदेश एवं संस्कृति राज्यमंत्री श्रीमती मीनाक्षी लेखी को कुरुक्षेत्र के युवक विशाल जूड, जो सिडनी में हमले में शामिल होने के आरोप में अप्रैल 2021 से ऑस्ट्रेलियाई जेल में बंद है, की रिहाई के लिए पत्र लिखा है।
ऑस्ट्रेलिया में ‘हरियाणा के बेटे’ को न्याय दिलाने के लिए श्रीमती मीनाक्षी लेखी से उच्च प्राथमिकता से हस्तक्षेप करने का आग्रह करते हुए श्री मनोहर लाल ने पत्र में लिखा है कि उन्हें विशाल जूड के परिवार सहित विभिन्न हलकों से अभ्यावेदन प्राप्त हुए हैं जिन्होंने मुझे बताया है कि विशाल जूड का एक समूह के साथ झगड़ा हो गया था, जो भारत विरोधी नारे लगा रहा था और यहां तक कि भारतीय राष्ट्रीय ध्वज का अपमान भी कर रहा था तथा इन समूहों ने बाद में विशाल जूड को झूठे आरोप में फंसाया।
मुख्यमंत्री ने इस बात पर प्रकाश डाला कि उन्होंने ऑस्ट्रेलिया में प्रवासी भारतीयों के कुछ प्रतिनिधियों के साथ एक वर्चुअल बैठक भी की थी, जो विशाल जूड का समर्थन कर रहे हैं और उसे जल्द से जल्द जेल से रिहा करने के लिए एक अभियान भी शुरू किया है। श्री मनोहर लाल ने कहा है कि विशाल के समर्थन में हरियाणा और उत्तर भारत के विभिन्न हिस्सों में प्रदर्शन भी हो रहे हैं और लोगों में उनकी जल्द रिहाई के लिए जन भावना है।
